A Short-Term Medical Plan offers temporary medical coverage for people who need health insurance for a limited period in Aruba. Depending on the plan, coverage may include:
• Hospital room and board
• Emergency care
• Surgical procedures
• Intensive care
• Consultations with specialists and doctors
• X-rays and laboratory tests

Individual Complete Coverage is Citizens’ most extensive individual medical insurance plan. It provides broad local and international coverage for a wide range of healthcare needs, from regular doctor visits to specialized medical care. Children can also be insured under this plan.

Coverage may include hospitalization, surgery, specialist care, maternity benefits, therapy, intensive care, medical transportation, dental care and vision care.

Individual AZV Supplementary Insurance gives you extra coverage in addition to your AZV insurance. It is designed to help with healthcare expenses that may not be fully covered by AZV, including:
• Therapy.
• Dental care.
• Vision care, such as frames, glasses and contact lenses.
• Health check-ups.
• Second opinions, if you want to be sure about a diagnosis.

Yes. There is a 2‑month waiting period, and a doctor’s report is required with your application.

Yes. It is covered under the individual Complete Coverage.

Yes. Prescribed drugs are covered when prescribed by a GP or specialist. For Individual Complete Coverage and Short Term Medical Plan up to the limits stated in the policy.

Yes. Treatment abroad (if covered) must be approved by the Citizens Medical Advisor.

Supplemental health coverage will pay for certain costs that aren’t covered by your main form of health insurance. These are additional coverages (dental, vision, another class at the hospital) and are designed to supplement your primary healthcare coverage.

The waiting period for a health insurance depends on the coverage and is a time period after inception of the policy in which a claim cannot be submitted.
